"Yes Commander." Djeneba replied soft sounds responded to her fingertips at the console before her and her requests for the scans to be taken. "It will take a few minutes for the scans to be completed."

Trei kept weapons at the ready, just in case. He was pretty sure the entity wouldn't do anything now that he saw it, but he wanted to be prepared just in case. "Weapons ready, ma'am. Though I'm not sure we need them now that I see it."
Chase sat in the back, watching everything. "Are you sure? That thing is very big."
Trei laughed. "Some dogs are big, but they're more likely to love you to death than bite."
"I don't think we'll need weapons," Amber said. "Not unless we want to violate the Prime Directive. We're not getting near the entity, we're landing on the planet."
"Is this the "We come in peace shoot to kill?" Ka'Tock said in what he hoped was humor as he kept the ship on course while glancing to see the reactions?"
"Not unless we run into the natives," Amber replied, smiling to show she knew it was a joke.
Djeneba glanced up as the corner of her mouth twisted into a brief smile at the humor then she glanced back down to review some of the data. "Commander, there have been some changes to the atmosphere due to the radiation. However it is hard to tell if those changes occurred because of the planets natural state of reaction to the absorption of the radiation or due to the alien's presence." The small dark haired woman became quiet for a long moment as soft sounds of the pressed controls responded to her query. She glanced back up her big dark eyes held concern, her tone tight with a serious note. "There seemed to be some noticeable changes in the region closest alien since the last recorded data was obtained. Slight though they may be. You know that if left to its own devices however, over time, the rate of solar radiation absorbed will decrease and that will cause some changes in the ecosystem."
"Thank you," Amber said. "Send the data to the Aurora so it can be analyzed."
Amber turned to Ka'Tock. "Take us in. Land where we won't be noticed by the natives."
"I can trim a few tree tops and put us down in a secluded place." He was checking the topographical charting. "Just give me a scan where the major humanoid life signs are and I will avoid them and find a place that might mean some walking but away from prying eyes."
An image of the observation post, the village, and any humanoid lifeforms came up on the screen.
"Lieutenant Ka'Tock by my calculations there should be a spot about ten kilometers north east of the village. Lieutenant Jansum may find that there another suitable location closer?" Djeneba said to the group because all she looked at were openings in the ground cover.
"That's quite a hike from the shuttle," Amber said. "There should be something closer to drop supplies off at the observation post."
Djeneba nodded "Aye Commander Quinn, another location four kilometers south and another possible location two kilometers to the north. Either could have been used to drop supplies at."
"Those both look good. Thank you," Amber said. She pulled up a scan of the planet and looked for roads or pathways that would be traveled to see if either one made a difference. "They both look good." She turned to Ka'Tock. "I'll let you decide."
"Thinking that we should be able to check the shuttle and if too far will be leaving the rest of you alone." Ka'Tock smiled.. The four click landing area should put the shuttle out far enough."
Ka'Tock brought the small craft really close; literally just above the tree tops and with a flair of the starboard side he angled the decent to bring them straight down in a cluster of trees in a dense area, the shuttle had no problem but a Danube would have been out of luck.
Touching down with the grace of a falling feather Ka'Tock began shutting down the shuttle with practiced ease.
"Bottom Floor , everything you wanted for a hunting trip; thick trees and a long walk." He grinned. "Thank you for flying , we look forward to your return trip."
Amber couldn't help chuckling. "Thank you, Mr. Ka'Tock." She grabbed her messenger bag and headed out of the shuttle. "Okay, everyone, remember where we parked," she joked. "Seriously, though, remember we aren't to interact with or be seen by the natives. We're here to talk to the science team and see if they have any new information for us."
She waited until everyone was off the shuttle and Ka'Tock had secured it. Then she pulled out her tricorder and verified the location of the observation post. "This way."
