| General Overview | Amber is cheerful and quirky. She has an impish sense of humor and loves word play and puns. Nothing tickles her fancy more than someone who can bandy words around. Her first love is history and archaeology. She loves to dig around in the dirt and read old books. Especially old books about history, folklore and fairy tales. As children, she and her sister used to sit up nights talking about their favorite fairy tales and twisting them. |

Weaknesses: Although comfortable addressing a group of academics, she tends to feel uncomfortable in large social settings and will avoid them whenever possible. She can be stubborn. If she sets her mind to something, it can be hard to get her to back down. |

She especially loves the desert. She plays the flute and guitar. She also enjoys sketching and painting and singing. |
| Personal History | Amber and her twin sister Aeryn were born and raised on Deep Space Nine. Both loved being raised on a station with the constant change and diversity but underlying stability. It gave both girls a desire to learn and explore. When the Dominion War broke out, the girls were sent to Vulcan to complete their studies. Both sisters went into archaeology, but both had a fascination with history. By her mid teens, Amber was studying at the Vulcan Science Academy. She studied history and archaeology with a focus on how humanity spread across the galaxy. When Amber graduated, she wanted a greater perspective on history, so she moved to Earth and studied at Pepperdine University, gaining a PhD in history and archaeology. Both her parents were killed in the Dominion War, so Aeryn hasn't been back to DS9. Aeryn became a teacher on Earth. Amber wanted to travel, so joined Starfleet as soon as she received her PhD. While on Vulcan she had to keep her impish natures somewhat contained. At least she learned to maintain an outward calm. But it made her find more subversive ways to let her humor show. She still enjoys word play and puns, an acceptable form of fun in Vulcan culture. Amber's zest for life and her hunger for learning drive her now, but one day she would like to focus on a family and children. And then on teaching, like her sister. For now, she makes the most of her opportunities and loves what she is doing. |
