Mission: Caverns of the mind
Location: Conference Room
Timeline: 0900

ON

Amber stayed on the planet for several hours to continue collecting data from the probes inside the cave. She and Paris flew around the planet a few more times to get new readings now that they knew what pathogen to look for.

Now, a day and a half later, it was time to decide the best way to deal with the scientists still in the caves-and prevent this situation from happening again.

Amber was the first to arrive, having set up the meeting. She put a PADD with all the relevant information at each place, replicated a glass of juice for herself, and sat to wait for the others to arrive.

Ka'Tock entered the conference room with a padd in hand, looking towards his Executive Officer.

Commander." He greet as he moved towards his place at the front of the table. "My complements on your Away Mission." He held the PADD to show he had read the initial reports. "But I see we have a little matter of getting the affected team from the... Tribe and still stay close to the Prime Directive as possible?"

"It was all due to the team," Amber said. "They did well. Especially Doctors Zuub and Boudreau."

"Good to know we have a reliable medical staff." Ka'Tock complemented. "WE will need to get a status of our patient in sick Bay also."

She nodded. "I informed Starfleet. They're going to pass on word to his family."

Nicoles came through the doors with swagger; the slight jingle of the added silver bracelets on her left wrist, the very soft added make up for emphasize her delicate skin tone , the stockings of flat back with the gloss flowered patterin from hem to boot on the sides.

"Howdy Yew'all." She purred as she daintily took a seat, crossing her legs at the ankle.

Amber looked at her carefully. There was something wrong. She wasn't behaving like she normally did. She was dressed up. And were those stocking silk? Her thoughts were also odd. She was thinking about men. Amber would have a quiet word with the doctor and the counselor after the meeting.

Trei entered the room, a cup of raktajino in his hand along with a padd for notes. He had had a nurse grow his hair back, and thankfully it was as full as normal; he wasn't ready to go bald yet. He was still feeling a bit wired, but Dr Zuub said that it would pass after a few days and he should continue his daily routine. He did, however, cut down from three cups of raktajino to one, which he was just about finished with.

He sat at one side of the table, smiling at everyone, and said, "Good morning," waiting for everyone to arrive so the meeting could start.

Amber glanced at Trei. He, too, was projecting loudly. His thoughts were about Azusa and a possible pregnancy and seemed both pleased and nervous about it. She looked down so no one would see her smile.

Zuub walked into the conference room. Her antennae leaned forward confidently and interestedly as she entered. A PADD was carried in her left arm as the towering Andorian walked. She greeted everyone and asked Trei, "How are you feeling?"

The tall Betazoid gave the slightest jump as he was shaking out of his thoughts. I'm confused to Oblivion and back. he thought to himself. He went between hoping Azusa was pregnant and hoping she wasn't, and then hoping it was a girl. Then there were his parents. How did he tell his parents he got a woman pregnant? How would they react? What about Azusa's parents? She had said that it was Japanese custom to only have sex after getting married. They weren't, not by a long shot. That meant her parents would be upset, to say the least. Would her father try to kill him? If it was Trei's daughter, he might. Then his protective instincts kicked in again, and the whole scenario started again.

Then he realized that the good doctor meant his recovery. "I'm fine. Just a little jittery, like you had said." He held up his cup and smiled ruefully. "I'm just having one cup of raktajino today instead of three."

Slipping in behind the Doctor, Boudreau threaded his way to his customary seat at the table. He had adjusted it enough times by now that it was perfect for him to sit comfortably. A rare treat for briefing rooms across two Quadrants he'd found.

He placed his PADD down in front of him, nodding to everyone present, still slightly distracted from his date the day before. Hadn't happened to him in a while, that feeling.

Troilon entered the conference room with her PADD in hand, crossing to sit opposite her boss and looking to the command staff.

Kym walked in next. "Hello, everyone,"she said, smiling to those in the room.

Her gaze lingered on Remy as she walked over and took the empty seat next to him. "Good morning," she said quietly.

'Morning,' he said with a smile as he swivelled his chair in her direction as she sat, 'how're we doing this today?' Boudreau felt his stomach go through a gymnastics routine as he looked at her. The Batazoids must have been having a whale of a time with all the charged emotions in the room.

"However you want to play it. I don't mind." In fact, sitting next to him was causing her heart to pound in her chest. Then she became aware of some of the other emotions in the room and raised an eyebrow. "Feels like a lot happened on hte planet."

'Like you wouldn't believe,' replied Remy, keeping his voice low. 'I think you're gonna be busy with the aftermath for a bit.' He squirmed a little bit in the formal setting and glanced about subtly before asking, 'dinner later when you're free?'

No doubt she'd have her hands full. "I'll be free. What time?"

He smiled, a little in relief, 'I get off at seventeen-hundred, so, an hour after that? Should give us both enough time to disentangle from the day's work.'

Her smile softened. "Sounds perfect." She hoped she'd be busy enough for time to pass quickly. She'd have a hard enough time not thinking about him as it was.

'Great, I'll save us a place in the Officer's Lounge for later,' Remy broke into a grin. His morning was going well, he thought.

Kym smiled and looked down at her PADD. It felt like days, rather than hours, until dinner. The anticipation made her smile again.
