| General Overview | A child of the Bajoran resistance, she idolized the Maquis, but was too young to join. Her parents were killed before the Bajoran liberation. She stayed on Bajor just long enough to be able to apply for Starfleet. Kym doesn't trust people easily and prefers to keep to herself, but she does understand people. She is a trauma and grief counselor. She is skilled at hand-to-hand combat. |

| Personal History | Kym was born in the Bajoran underground. Her parents were both members of the Resistance. They died before Bajor was liberated. Kym’s brother was a teenager at the time and continued to work with the Resistance. He sent his sister to the city to a boarding school. Kym studied counseling while on Bajor so she could help fellow Bajorans who had lost loved ones in the war. She also worked in Intel as she was good with computers and infiltration. After a couple of years, Kym lost contact with her brother. Not wanting to stay on the planet any more, she joined Starfleet at her earliest opportunity, continuing in her work as a counselor. Kym has a strong mistrust of Cardassians and believes they will again try and take over Bajor. She keeps her training focused so that she will be ready to fight should the need arise. |
