Paris stood up from his chair and looked around. He noticed everyone reaching for large bags full of technical and other equipment. For him, there wasn't much, but what he hand. No phaser, but what was concealed, and no large bag of tricks. All his tricks was already on him and where he could quickly reach it. He never saw the need and he wasn't about to start unless he knew it would be necessary. After looking around, one more time, he turned back to Amber and shrugged. "Consider it grabbed." Before shoving his hands in his pockets and letting out a slight smile.

Amber nodded and grabbed her cross pack.
"Everyone, grab your gear," the commander said.
Trei grabbed his backpack and slung it over his shoulders. It was light enough that he stood straight and tall, though he would still be sore the next day. Water could be heavy! He took his phaser out and held it at his side. He didn't want to be caught offguard if a giant blood sucking monster tried to eat him.
Triolon was behind her Boss and glanced to see how well the Doctor would be lugging that travel case of a Medical 'pack' with her?
Nicoles was able to get the pack in place; she was trained in how to tote this about and actually ; in her Off shift, would take the pack below decks and tote it about at a jog; she would be mortified if found out as a Lady does not do that sort of Physical labor in public; it would not be right. So she did have the ease and physical training to carry her Medical gear; despite the demure way she presented herself.
Amber walked off the shuttle, tricorder in hand, to get a good look at the planet. The vegetation was jungle-like, with large-leafed plants and a variety of animal life. She took a sample of the soil and a piece of leaf and put them in a sample bag.
When everyone had assembled, she pointed. "The research facility is this way."
Paris stepped out and looked around. "Well... this is cozy. Could be a nice place to get away from the world and relax... if it wasn't for the many ways you could not come back in one piece." He joked, smiling, as he followed Amber and the group. "Anything we know about this facility we are walking into? What they were working on of it they have a defense system we should be aware of? You know... the life saving kind of details."
"No defense system that we know of," AMber said. "They were exploring the planet for useful resources and to see if there were any ancient inhabitants. That's all we know."
"No defense system does not leave out they were invaded in some way." Paris said as they walked. "Perhaps it would be wise to keep that in mind before entering the facility in general. Scanning before entering and clearing a room would be smart. Then again... what do I know?" He smiled slightly.
"The Aurora scanned the area, and the facility. We found nothing," Amber said. "That does not mean we should let down our guard. To that end, I think we should use the buddy system. No one goes off alone. We can go in groups of two or three."
"Oh joy." Paris replied with slight sarcasm. "Because splitting up never led to something bad in a situation like this."
"Only to search around the facility," she said. "I'll even take you on as my partner." She grinned at Paris.
Trei's eyes never stopped moving. The snakes ignored them for the most part, as did the bugs, which he was grateful for. He would never forget going to Earth and being eaten alive by the menace the humans called mosquitoes. Trei looked at Troilon. "Go with the commander and make sure they stay safe. I'll go with Lt Nakano and Dr Nicoles."
"Roger that Sir." Triolon moved closer to the Commander and the Pilot.
Whom; in her opinion thus far, had expended far too much carbon dioxide for even these plants to absorb. Photosynthesis and all that nature stuff; he did seem to like his own voice echoing on the wind and seemed to want something of a reaction from the Executive Officer.
Keeping in a protective distance between the surroundings and the three in her protection; the
"Ah do declare Ah should have worn something lighter as this humidity does remind me of the summers back home Mister Jansum." She noted to the Gentleman. "If not for the possible dire situation at the station this might have been a nice stroll. But then I would have had a parasol rather than this bulky gear.
Nicoles was keeping pace and being mindful of the atmosphere; heat and other factors, she would make sure everyone hydrated for the walk to the facility
Amber had no doubt that Paris could keep her safe, and she really didn't like being told who was going with whom as she was in charge, but she let it go for now. She had a sneaking suspicion that if something did go wrong, she and Paris wouldn't be the ones needing help.
Trei caught the thoughts, and glanced at Amber out of the corner of his eye and winced. He messed up, and he knew it. He simply wanted to keep the commander safe, but in doing so, he broke the chain of command. That was stupid, Trei, he scolded himself.
"Too eager," Amber said telepathically. "Just remember, there are other people on this team who need protection. Let me decide where you're needed most."
She glanced at the other
The two teams moved out, each taking a different path around the research facility to meet back where they started.
Trei inclined his head in acknowledgment of the rebuke. Aye, Ma'am. He led Tessa and Azusa around the other side, his hand ready to go up at any moment, whether for a person or some kind of snake or other predator.
