Cure for a hangover, or 2 broken hearts?

Mission: Caverns of the mind
Timeline: MD 04 0800

Kuroko sighed as she looked over the security reports from last night. As deputy chief she worked closely with the chief and had access to the reports as the beta shift leader.

"She could never handle her liquor" she said outloud as she put the report aside. "I nest go check to see if shes alright..."

With that she began to make her way down towards the crew deck, a large spring water bottle in her hand. Afterall water was the best cure for a hangover. She arrived at Tessas door and rang the bell.

The echo of the chime was something that beat her in her head. She staggered slightly; having barely the time to get out of her dress and not even get her water shower, She was barely covered by her unmentionables as she wrap a robe around her and went to the door.

What kind of heathen rings a lady's Door at this hour? She said and opened the door in her thick white fluffy robe.

Her jaw could not have dropped any more as she saw Kuroko

"That kind of heathen..." She remarked and went to close the door.

"Good morning to you too" Kuroko said as she held the door open. "I heard about last night, I thought you might want some water, it's got antioxidants in it to help with flushing out any alcohol..." she said holding the bottle out sheepishly. "Because... I still care" she mumbled under her breath.

Nicoles stood there for a few moments; hours or seconds for all she knew."Cannot have you standing outside Mah door with that attempt of looking like a lost puppy." She turned and moved away to allow Kuroko entrance. "For the record ah am fine... so long as you do not use that dang chime. She moved back towards the back of her quarters. Come on in , as Mamaw says yer letting in the flies with that open door.

Kuroko nodded and stepped inside. Still holding out the water bottle. "Its strawberry flavoured too... I know it's not much. But I heard from Lieutenant Jansum that you had a rough night. Sorry I missed it, I might have been more helpful"

Nicoles took the bottle as offerd and turned away as tp get glasses, it also helped hide her face from Kiroko.

"Yew would not have been able to help... sorry." Nicoles said softly . Nothing but the Spirits were needed; something I have to ... get used to." She pour two waters and placed one on the small table close to Kiroko. "Y'all know A lady does not drink in front of guests , did Mamaw teach you nothing about manners?" She asked more like a reminder than a reprimand. "She always said never leave a guest wanting, see to their comfort." She glanced over her shoulder. "Ah have an Away Mission today so drink up as ah have to get ready and all."

"Away mission?" Kuroko asked curiously.

"Why yes." Nicoles said. "Ah am the Acting Chief Medical Officer and the fate of those Scientists that are not responding for whatever reason there is a need for a Doctor on the away mission and Ah am the reigning Doctor so my time to shine yew know?"

Kuroko nodded. "I hope that your skills won't be needed" she replied. "Is there anything that you think I could do to help?" She asked curiously.

Nicoles had several good retorts ready; one or two not Lady Like but she managed to hold her tongue.

"One little way or another they will." She almost giggled. "Four people not responding while everything works, don't y'all think there might be a problem as to Why they are not answering?" She put her hands on her hips. "Junebug, Science and Medical are the two that are needed, while Engineering and OPS can check the station." SHE bent closer to Kiroko. "The best thing yew can do is not to worry." She shrugged. "Nothing to do from orbit and there are two security types going down so no need to fret none."

"Junebug?" Kuroko asked slightly confused. "And I'm not worried about them. I'm more worried about our people going down...." she stated at Tessa. "You know... as a security officer that's my job" she wasn't going to openly admit that she feared for Tessas safety, she would only be lectured again about 'how she can look after herself etc'.

"That is phine." Nicoles said. "Yew are Security Chief while Trei is goner wright?"

Kuroko nodded. "Yeah" she said a few seconds of an awkward silence hung in the air. "I know this is a bit sudden, but would you care to join me for breakfast?" She asked. "I don't expect you to want to 'pick up from where we left off' but at least, since we're on the same ship we can try to be somewhat friends?" Kuroko asked. Personally she wanted more than that however knew that taking small steps might be the best option for both of them.

Nicoles still had her hands on her hips looking at Kiroko; she had three things she could have said to her but did not want to use the two less lady like ones.

"Did y'all hear that I have an Away Mission?" She asked again. "I need a shower and to be ready to go down; I need to press my pants and check my Medical Kit." She blew out a breathe. "Does it..." She rolled her eyes. "I need not ask this..." She shook her head and moved to Kiroko and started pushing her towards the door. "Get an umbrella because AH am throwing yew a rain check as AH need to take a shower... no distractions and get ready for going to a hot jungle in pants and such so just wait to ask again until AH return."

Kuroko scowled for a few seconds. "Fine then" she said. She stood up and crossed the room. She stopped at the door. It wouldn't have been very long ago she might have asked to join her in said shower. She looked back with a grin. "You know... I could use a shower too...."

She saw Tessa's face. "No wait..." she said holding up a finger. "In my own quarters right?"

"For the duration of this Lifetime Darlin." She was helping to usher Kuroko along. "If Ah am late to that shuttle I will sick Mr. Trei onto yew for shure.

"I wouldn't mind the court martial... if it was for the... erm..." she paused and simply grinned back at Tessa. "Right reasons" she glanced up and down Tessa's body. "But, I should be going. You have a mission to get to, don't forget to clean behind your ears"

"Ah have a very nice new brush for mah back as well so no help needed there." She fave an extra 'urging' for her into the corridor.

"You sure about that?" Kuroko asked as she was pushed towards the door. "I used to 'wash' your back all the time... I am Japanese after all... I know a few holodeck programs with Japanese baths..."

"Not right ... now." She pushed Kuroko out the door and closed it, then turned to lean against it for a second. "I miss that feeling of squeaky clean actually." She said softly to herself. "Oh Mah, Ah am supposed to be ready by now." She told herself and rushed to the shower, untying her housecoat along the way.

"So that wasn't a definite 'no' then" Kuroko grinned as the doors swished shut just as she left.
