Mission: Caverns of the mind
ON
Pippa put together the booster probe to be placed in orbit over the planet and had it ready when it was time for everyone from the first away team to board the shuttle.
Nicoles was hefting another smaller satchel along with her field kit, not to mention how she was nervous that the Transporter crew used 'Her' delicate equipment to test the transporter instead of empty crates and such.
"Now w-h-y did you torture my Things?" She protested at the time, the crew has given the lame excuse 'they were available at the time.' "Really, you'all just used technical equipment for a test?" The argument did not achieve more than a dull 'Sorry' from the crew.
Trilon came to the transporter room and saw the doctor standing by the Pad.
"It is not ready for personnel yet." The technician told the Doctor; small not-complex patterns we can put through fine but not safe for people until the Enhancers are placed by the shuttle team."
"Would you like coffee." Troilon asked. I think we might be bere for a bit?"
"At least we will be saved that bumpy ryde." Her accent strong.

For her part, Nicoles was a bit more open to the linked transporter idea than another 'Bumpy' ride in a shuttle to go down since the test had shown the system ready for 'Personnel' transport. She waited in the transporter room.
Amber walked onto the shuttle and nodded to Paris. "There are a couple of people who would rather use the transporter, so we'll drop off the probe and set up transporter buffers in the research facility." She grinned. "If we're going to be there a few days, we might as well decide if we're going to sleep on the shuttle, or pick one of the empty rooms."
Azusa followed Amber into the shuttle. She simply looked around noticing the consoles and made a mental note of the ships systems status.
'Let's hope it's an in-and-out job,' remarked Boudreau as he walked onto the shuttle himself, 'the shuttle may get a little crowded if we're all camping out.' He stowed his two bags of equipment carefully out of the way of the crew making their way in and out of the craft.
Trei appeared with his backpack full again with water packs. His phaser was on his left hip, his tricorder on his right. He had sunglasses in his hand, and night glasses in his pack.
"I hope so, too," Amber said to Remy. "But I have no idea how long it will take us, collectively, to find out what happened to the scientists and to find a way to reverse it."
"Isn't that part of the fun for you people." Paris shouted from the ramp door as he stood there with a bag over his shoulder, a locked case in his other hand, and his friend Gizmo the Ferret on his shoulder. "I see we have the usual band of misfit toys."
"I do now," Amber replied sweetly to Paris.
As he walked further into the shuttle, Gizmo jumped off his shoulder and leaped to a nearby console, only to quickly hop off there and onto the floor. The ferret scurried on the floor, darting back and forth, only to leap onto the console by the helm controls. He stood up on his hind legs and look around, sniffing his small nose, before going back on all fours.
"Be sure to secure the cockpit, Co-Pilot. I'll get the pre-flight out of the way." Paris replied with a smile as he shoved his bag into a compartment and continued to the pilots seat with the case in his hand.
Gizmo's head darted back and forth, letting out a soft chittering sound, before leaping off the console. The animal began to dark back and forth around the shuttle, squeezing through small areas, and popping out from others before finally stopping in the middle of the ground. He stood up on his hind legs, again sniffing at the air, before looking around at everyone on the shuttle so far.
Paris sat down, placing the case at his side, before looking over to Amber. "Is this everyone?"
"It is. Ready when you are," Amber said, sitting down in the seat next to Paris.
"Perfect." Paris said as he tapped on the console, closing and securing all doors, as he initiated the pre-flight. As the nacelles began to ignite and the systems went to full, he began a quick com channel to the shuttlebay staff. "Shuttle Bay, this is the Hawking ready to depart. Give us the go ahead when you're all set on your end."
A moment later the all clear came through. "Hawking, you're clear to depart."
Paris looked to Amber, sneaking a wink, before turning to face the others. "Okay, people. Couple of ground rules. Nothing too specific." He said in a calm and relaxed tone as he continued. "In the event we run into trouble, meaning from here to there, I'll handle it. Feel free to help if you want, take control of a system like tactical and the such, but the flying is on me. Best way to survive is if we aren't at each others throats about what is the best course of action. Second, if there is any issues you go to the co-pilot and that's him." He pointed to Gizmo. "He's stern, but fair. He will bite you if you touch him. If you irritate him he will harm you and I will not be held accountable. You will treat him with respect or we can see how long you survive in space without a suit. Do not let him fool you... he is vicious and he doesn't like to be treated like a pet-"
As Paris spoke, Gizmo sniffed some more around before darting to the front. Almost instinctively, he leaped onto Amber's lap and curled up, letting out a soft and calm squeak before closing his eyes.
