Captain's Log, stardate 95313.69.

Our brief layover for new personnel and restock after the Nal'Daya mission allowed for everyone to take a breath - one I think I needed more than the crew. I've been in command of this ship for almost five years now, and in that time, I think I've made more mistakes than anyone under my command. It is my hope that I can mend some of those now.

We've been tasked with an astrometric survey of a nebula in the Charys sector, another sector mapped at long range but never visited. We lucky few get to be the first to see this area of space up close, and I know at least one member of the crew who should enjoy this assignment, even if it isn't quite her chosen area of study.

I've tasked Lieutenant Commander Quinn with administrating the survey. Such a thing may not be exactly what she wanted from this, but if nothing else, having authority over the research and resource allocation to obtain it is at least a hand in things. I've opted to give her complete autonomy in order to allow this to go smoothly. Don't need the doddering old captain in her way.

Since my workload will be slightly reduced during this time, I'm opting to take a serious look at my own internal workings. I've scheduled a session with Counselor Ka'Tock, and I expect at least a few more before I feel as though I'm still walking the correct path.

End log.
