Hobbies & Interests He likes tinkering with all sorts of gadgets and devices as a way to remember fondly of his parents. He enjoys many forms of fitness and training, whenever he has shifts off he will spend them in the gym. Unless he has plans with friends.

Personal History Living on Nimbus III was hell unless one was valuable and thankfully both Kyell and Lidia Mak were indeed important. They were engineers and knew majority of the systems and hardware that kept the unruly population of Nimbus III civilised. This kept them alive and their son, Takil, as well. Since the failure to create the 'Planet of Peace' the three major powers began withdrawing both personnel and resources to the running of the cities all over Nimbus III. The criminal and gang organisations along with pirates of all forms moved in and did all they could to ruin everything and everyone. The main one being the Orion Syndicate.

Although privileged, Kyell and Lidia did, at every opportunity they got to drum into Takil that it was important to treat others with respect and compassion to make sure he would not grow up like the rest of the abandoned colonists on Nimbus. There was not one school that was reliable enough for an education worthy of successful life so between work and what little free time they could get, Takil's parents homeschooled him.

He did make friends with other kids who lived nearby but he was on the line of cautious and hope every day. His telempathic abilities surfaced when he turned ten and it almost sent him into complete insanity with all of the evil, dirty, and sadistic thoughts and feelings he encountered from majority of the adults living around him.

His mother was the one who helped him develop the necessary mental strength to block or at least filter what he picked up. It took several years to master it and nightmares were Takil's regular companion but on his fifthteenth birthday his parents got him one of those music rocks that forever chased away the nightmares. He has kept it with him as a focus tool.

A rather rocky life led him to twenty-five, and he had become quite the techie like his parents. He worked with them and saved enough money to buy his way off Nimbus, somewhat out of sight of the crimelords running the planet. Takil wanted his parents to come with him when he told them, not that they didn't already know his desire to get off the hellhole that Nimbus had become, but they were now too old to offer any resistance should the Syndicate purse them. They did however pack his life up and escort him to his contact then said their farewells with no interference from the Syndicate.

Takil didn't know but an agreement had been made to let their son leave upon reaching an appropriate age and they would remain to do their jobs until they were no longer able. It had been hard on Takil leaving his home and family but he pushed through it knowing that they were happy he was no longer trapped. He could purse a life full of anything he wanted; one of his ambitions was to join Starfleet and explore which he intended to do first thing upon his arrival on Earth.

It took him longer to get through the Academy only because of lingering memories of the past and his family as he went through extended counseling. Takil however did well academically and although hard to fight the urge to distrust any around him as it was a life or death thing on Nimbus III, he was able to develop some relationships with his fellow cadets.
