| General Overview | Sympathetic, social and friendly, he is easily approachable and quite flirtatious with the same sex. He is very honest, at least about the important things, and loyal but has a strong dispassion for anyone who lacks those qualities and takes betrayal very seriously. He has been known to be driven by his emotions and passion in his personal life, but remains extremely professional and focused on his duties. Though he believes in truth, justice and equality, he is also willing to bend rules and laws. His personal code is to stand up for what he believes is right, even if he must stand alone. | Personal History | Son of Ornaran farmers, Xander lived the whole of his young life looking up at the stars wanting more than the simple farm life. At the age of ten, Xander ran away from home and stowed away on a freighter to get off world. It was not long till he was discovered and taken before the vessel's captain. Having sympathy on the boy, the captain decided to let him earn his stay in the ship by cleaning the cargo holds and helping out in Engineering. For the next four years the boy cleaned and learned everything he could about the freighter. When he turned 14, the freighter captain dropped him off on Earth to get a 'formal education'. Having been left with enough money to live on, Xander took the Starfleet entrance exam and got in, barely. He lied about his age on the application and barely passed most of his classes, despite being a quick learner. He was at the bottom of his graduation class and was fierce enemies with the Class valedictorian, Dennis Hurgag. The day before his graduation, Dennis discovered that he was actually 18 and informed Starfleet. Genetic testing confirmed his age and he was expelled from the Academy. Outraged, Xander challenged Dennis to a duel allowing Dennis to pick the medium, Dennis chose fighters. With Dennis being a Cadet ACE, Xander was slighted to lose. They hijacked two fighters and raced around Jupiter station trying to shoot each other down. Demonstrating brilliant tactics and maneuvering, Xander disabled Dennis' ship but refused to kill the young cadet. Moving with the other craft under tow, Xander was arrested by Starfleet for the theft as they were making their way back to Earth. After much discussion, and a lot of political threats, Xander was allowed to graduate the academy and assigned to Starbase 272. After being assigned to said starbase, he found himself promoted to Lieutenant, junior grade and assigned as the Research Team Leader for the experimental chemistry team. During his time on Starbase 272,he met and befriended Jordyn Elbrun who was a few years older than Oroyo and the two became fast friends as well as lovers. They later would become lovers as Elbrun was helping him overcome his Felicium addiction using his telepathy. Next Xander was reassigned to the USS Miranda as their assistant Chief Science Officer. Oroyo had never been an assistant department head before but he was determined to succeed in his new post. Pining for his lover, he began looking for new “diversions” and often found despite them often ending badly. In spite or because of this fact he was promoted to Lieutenant. Shortly after his promotion, Xander was reassigned, much to his pleasure, to the USS Casey, a medical ship that also held some of the most advanced science labs at that time as Chief Science Officer. Later he was reassigned to the USA Aurora as Chief Science Officer |
